My Top 10 Makeup Products

I had little request to do a blog post on my favourite beauty products, so I thought I'd start with my 10 favourite makeup products, then tackle a top 10 beauty post later as it's so hard to narrow things down to just 10!

Now just to let you know, these are products that I use everyday on my clients and when on shoots, no brand has gifted or paid me to feature them, I love them all dearly like my children (sounds creepy, I know).

I thought I'd start at ten and work my way to my number one favourite. You kmow, for a bit of draaaama.

10. Benefit Blush Rockature

I use Benefit's Rockature a lot, it's such a versatile blush as it's not too pink, rather more of a rosy shade. I find it can change colour from one person to the next, on me it looks like more of a bronze colour, but on clients with darker skin, it stays true to its gorgeous rosy colour.

I also love the finish, such a pretty glowy finish that is so subtle, which you can really build on. It's my number one blush for all my bridal makeups.

9. NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder

Let's Face it, anything from NARS is amazing. It's really how much money you can spare on such a stunning brand!

One of my favourite NARS products is their Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder. It really does what it says, which is reflecting light to diffuse the light on the face, so you look flawless. I find that when I'm working with a bride who is looking for a dewy finish but wants her makeup to last throughout the wedding it's a great choice, as is sets your makeup perfectly stopping shine without mattifying too much.

8. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

If you're a fan of beauty YouTubers, then you probably already know about the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. It's ahhh-mazing! It's highly pigmented which means it covers like a dream but it's also very creamy which means it's movable and doesn't set into your fine lines.

I love using this product to highlight under the eyes down the centre of the nose and forehead, as I've mentioned it's very movable so glides onto those lager areas so easily and blends like a dream.

7. Laura Mercier Radiance Primer

I've recently added the Laura Mercier Radiance Primer to my makeup kit as I've heard such good things about it.....and you know what? It has lived up to its expectation. It's amazing for creating that gorgeous dewy glowy skin when applied before your foundation and if you want even more of a glow, you can mix a little in with your foundation.

I think the thing I love about this primer the most is that it allows your foundation to glide on so smooth and the finish you get is so subtle yet stunning.

6. Lorac Pro Eyeshadow Palette

Unfortunately Lorac isn't stocked in Sephora or Mecca yet ( I say yet as I'm holding onto hope), but you can buy Lorac makeup products on Ebay. Just make sure you look into the seller as there are counterfit products which will offer Lorac for an incredibly low price - be warned!

The reason I've included it in my list as I think the Lorac Eyeshadows are some of the best quality eyeshadows on the market. They are extremely pigmented so you don't need a lot of product on your brush and they can be applied wet, which intensifies the colours even more. I've gotta say, the shimmery eyeshadows applied wet are quite literally out of this world.

5. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

I use the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer on anyone who has a normal to oily complexion, it's such an amazing primer that creates a smooth velvet finish, so your foundation glides on like an absolute dream. Now anyone that has dry skin can also use this primer as well as it is also hydrating, but it's especially good for people with oily skin as the formula is oil free.

Another added bonus is that it's a multi-tasker, which inhibits the destruction of collagen and helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Winning!

4. Too Faced Foundation - Born This Way

Too Faced is one of my absolute favourite brands, and their Born This Way Foundation is so amazing. It's the foundation I use on all my brides and I cannot rave about it enough. It's a hydrating formula that gives you a medium to full coverage that is buildable, so you can work towards your perfect opacity, and its finish is really want you want it to be. You can matte it out with a powder over the top or you can leave it dewy - it works both ways.

3. Shanghai Suzy Lipstick in Baby Honey

Shanghai Suzy is one of my favourite lipstick brands. This sassy lady from Melbourne followed her dream to create a cosmetics brand and is winning over lipstick hearts around Australia. What I love about the brand is that every year she does two colour stories - Winter/Autumn and Summer/Spring. I think it makes it exciting to see what new colours will be in her latest collection - always on trend and always fabulous.

My favourite Shanghai Suzy lipstick at the moment and probably ever, is one in her current range called Baby Honey. It's a whipped matte formula and is such a pleasure to wear on the lips. Whilst it's matte, it doesn't dry your lips out straight away, holding a lot more moisture than the matte lipsticks from M.A.C.

Baby Honey is just the perfect nude - not too pale, not too brown, not too cool and not too orange. It's just the perfect shade.

2. The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

If you're a lover of Beauty Vloggers, then you may already know about the fabulous Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm, and all I can say is lucky you. It is possibly one of my favourite products of all time! Mary Lou-Manizer is a light golden powder highlighter, and baby, do you glow when it's on your skin.

I love to dust a little on the brow bone, cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose.

1. The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer

Without a doubt my number one favourite makeup product is Cindy-Lou Manizer also by The Balm. Yes it's another highlighter but it's the colour of this highlighter that I love the most. It's a really beautiful skin toned highlighter that you can wear over any blush to give it a glistening glow, or you can apply it to your cupids bow and the tip of your nose for a super subtle highlight.

It just blends into your skin so easily and gives you a really radiant glow that people will comment on.
